Accident occured at Broederschool Zuidmoerstraat in Eeklo during lessons break while playing football.
Instead of a football, we used a tennisbal to play the game when a classmate with high boots kicked my right leg. In the arms of the teacher Buysse I was carried to dr. Joos who gave me a full leg plaster. After 6 weeks the leg was healed.

In the heat of a frisbee game, an argument lead to a small fight between youngsters and resulted in 2 broken knuckles. The right hand was stabilized in plaster but had to be broken when X-rays showed bad joint position. During an operation two 4 cm pins were inserted to fix the joints. After 6 months the steel work was removed.

The PBA Speed competition windsurfing in Tarifa, south of Spain, is the highlight of the year for the world best windsurfers such as Thierry Bielak, Bjorn Dunckerbeck, Jose Bahadour, ... The speedweek is also accessible for pro-am competitors. At the end of a fast speed track, a small wave flipped my Fanatic Jag speed board. The right ankle got stuck in the front bootstrap and
got fragmented. The ankle was torn 70 degrees and had to be operated in Aalst on both ankle sides with 2 metal plates and 6 inox screws. After 6 months all metal parts were removed and sports could be continued without major problems

Morocan off-road trails were calling, that's why we had to practice the XR600 cross in muddy circuits. On the road to Doel, I could not get the frontwheel out of a deep track. Consequently the motorcycle fell with its foot stand right on my right leg and resulted in an open tibia fracture and broken fibula. In Eeklo a 50 cm long hollow steel tube was inserted in my tibia medula and fixed with 2 screws above my ankle. After a 6 months recovery the tube was released and sports activities could restart.

My Slingshot twintip was ejected out of the water onto the right side of my skull after I fell during a turn. I was dragged unconscious to the Anemos jeep. An open fracture above the left ear was determined at AZ Zeno. After 2 critical days, the internal skull pressure was under control. Two months recovery in a dark room witheld me from future headaches or attacs.

Many years of tennis competition & countless km's of trail running resulted in worn meniscus with several small particles. Keyhole surgery was the best solution with the least impact on future sport activities. Due to heavy impact, tennis competition was abandoned and running was replaced by swimming and cycling.

As I was constructing my garage, the heavy thermoblocks of 50 x 19 cm were teasing my back. Two months after finishing the building, I got a L3 L4 disc block in the lower vertebrae. 3 days of hospital and several pain killers later I was ready to start a 7 year vertebrae school in order to strengthen the my core stability.

After 2 Corona years, a new paragliding season had to start on the slopes of Montalbert near Allevard (FR). My wing collapsed in a rolling wind and spiraled me against the mountain ridge at 650 m altitude. I hit the trunk of the tree knee first to protect my body. 2 hours later I was rescued by the French gendarmes in a heli and flown to Albertville for first diagnose.
Because of various complex fractures I was driven to Belgium for surgery and 8 month recovery.
